LAKE DISTRICT ACTIVITIES:

Hall Dunnerdale is an ideal centre from which to explore the Lake District and a wide variety of interests can be satisfied. The author and rambler Wainwright extolled the virtues of the Unspoilt Duddon Valley and there are fine walks from the cottage doors. There is easy and immediate access to the fells from our own 300 acre farm land and Broughton Mills Close by, where you can enjoy the spectacular heights of Stickle Pike and Wrynose Pass into the Langdales. The Roman road and remains of the fort at Hard Knott lead into Eskdale. If you fancy canoeing then the River Duddon flows right past the farm.

Lake sports are available at Coniston and Windermere and mountain bikes can be hired at several locations.

Great houses such as Levens Hall, Sizergh Castle, Holker Hall and Muncaster Castle invite visitors to admire their magnificent gardens. Brantwood near Coniston, Dove Cottage at Grasmere, the Dock Museum at Barrow and Stott Park Bobbin Mill offer an insight into Lakeland's past, while steam railways at Haverthwaite and Ravenglass delight all comers.

South Lakeland is also rich in attractions for all ages and all weathers - the Aquarium of the Lakes, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park and Muncaster Owl Centre to name only a few.

If you fancy a day at the swimming baths where you can swim, sauna, squash or gym then Dalton in Furness Leisure Centre has it all. Or if the weathers good the River Duddon Flows right passed the farm.

Whether you are here for a short break or week's holiday sailing, canoeing, paragliding, mountain bikes, golf, fishing, diving, horse riding, bird watching, painting and other activities for all.

We have also arranged with a local firm to organise a fun day adrenaline buzz with archery, clay piegeon shoots, paint balling, Lazer shooting, 4x4 off roads, Hydro Quad, Argo Cat, quad biking, children quad biking, leave the children with their toys while the parents go off and play with their even bigger toys. whether it be an hour, half a day or a full day with lunch also available, this can all be arranged contact:- anne@hall-dunnerdale.co.uk
