The
front door of Hall Dunnerdale Farmhouse opens into a
traditional Lake District living room, with it’s grey
slate floor, a great wood burning stove which provides
mountains of heat. The sofas are large and welcoming
and you can just imagine a cosy evening in, toasting
your toes, reading a fat novel or watching a film.
There’s a large kitchen with everything you’d expect
to find, including a huge pine dresser and a dining
area where you can sit and talk whilst preparing a meal
at the end of a wonderful Cumbrian day.
From the kitchen, at the rear of the cottage you’ll
find the garden is small and enclosed - perfectly safe
for small children to play - and has a superb view of
the fells and the sounds of the river Duddon not so
far away.
There’s
garden furniture and a barbecue, so don't forget to
pick up some traditional Lakeland lumpwood charcoal.
There’s also an old stone built shed, so if you bring
your bikes or canoes there’s somewhere to store them
securely.
Upstairs there’s two good sized bedrooms with views
looking over Caw Fell and Coniston Old Man in the back
ground. All the furniture is pine and whilst we‘ve brought
the standard of the cottage to what we know our visitors
expect we’ve also kept as many features like gnarled
old beams and the original doors. Living Room with wood
burning stove, tv and DVD player, stairs leading to
first floor.
A
large well equipped kitchen with double oven, fridge
freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washer-dryer.
Garden furniture and barbecue, outside shed
One double bedroom, one twin. Bathroom with bath and
shower over, sink and toilet.
Bed linen is included together with an alarm clock (should
you really want to get up early!) and a hair dryer.
Pets are welcome but please don't let them on the furniture
downstairs or upstairs on the beds. I'm afraid an additional
charge will be made should we have to provide extra
cleaning should this happen.
Car parking port at the front of the house.
